Lantian July 31, 2006 at 10:30 am: Okay, I’ve waited long enough. It just has to be said, because I’ve always known, for the record I conclude that this quote is quite suspicious.

Carl July 31, 2006 at 11:47 pm: I gave up – couldn’t find that Nietzsche quote about how Nietzsche would rather be gullible (the other person having the fault) than continually suspicious (a fault in oneself)…

But more to the point, did Lu Xun read that quote, seeing as he was a Nietzsche-fan for a while? And is the first sentence quoted above an example of him working on and modifying Nietzsche’s thought to make his own position…?
Administrator August 1, 2006 at 5:19 am: I think Lu Xun’s comment could apply to the left and the right in western politics today. It’s also interesting, however, that when Mao came to a conclusion there was no doubt about his decision.

Will August 1, 2006 at 6:49 am: So that’s where I’m missing out. I’m eternally suspicious to the point of paranoia. For example there’s subversive content on that picture: 学习鲁迅的革命？？ To study Lu Xun’s revolutionary what??
