Here’s part of an interview I did with the BBC World Service. The topic is ‘The Communications Revolution’. If you’re interested (or even if you’re not) my bit is about 15 minutes into the show. I think they will include more form us in other parts of thise series.

Good interview. Just out of interest what’s the current count for the number of subscribed users? Basic and Premium?

LESS BITS –

Hi Ken …and maybe I can get Bazza to tickle your ear,

The BBC mp3 download was 9.1 mb for a more than 20 minute show, versus a typical Chinesepod mp3 filesize of 16 to now more than 25 mb on the advanced shows. Maybe my little mp3 player doesn’t have the fidelity to hear the difference, but for my downloads, mp3 storage, etc., a 50% reduction in file size would be significant. Another solution would be for someone to give me an Cpod..I mean…iPod….

Nice story, when do we get the webcam to watch real-time the Cpod factory playroom.

Thanks for that info Lantian. I wasn’t going to download it because I thought it would be huge and I’m nearing my usage quota for the month, but now I will. A podcast lesson only freezes my connection for half an hour while it downloads, so this should be much quicker.
