ChinesePod continues to evolve, here is a list of the latest developments.

1. New lesson set added to the Learning Center – Our “Freshman” lesson set is a quick review of essential language for 2nd year college and university students returning from summer break. Add this lesson set to My Course and get yourself ready for class.

2. The “Podcast Archive” changes to “Lesson Archive” – The archive provides access to much more than just our podcast audio lessons. The new name better reflects the value of the archive – our audio lessons, and and the review materials that accompany them (transcripts, expansion vocabulary, exercises and lesson plans).

3. Improved Navigation – Getting around the Lesson Archive (aka Podcast Archive) is a little easier now that we have updated the navigation bar at the botton of the page. The format is as follows “Pages (35): [1] 2 3 4 » … Last »”

4. Email My Course to fellow learners – ChinesePod is all about sharing. Now you can share your personal My Course curriculum with other learners. Click on the button at the bottom of the default view in My Course. You can enter up to 10 email addresses at one time. Your friends will receive an email from ChinesePod sent on your behalf. Imbedded in the email is a hyperlink that when clicked on will populate the default view of My Course with the lesson pods you have added to your own. Friends without active ChinesePod Premium subscriptions will be prompted to sign up for the free 7-day trial or purchase a paid subscription. Remember – access to My Course requires a Premium subscription.

5. Audio Intro’s – We have added several audio introductions to parts of the website that require some explanation. These areas include the Lesson Archive, My Course, Word Bank and Flashcards. Click on the play button and discover what you have been missing.

As always let us know what you think about these new features and enhancements.

Kind Regards,

Matt Park 段伟

Matt,

Good to see that, at one year old, you’re still able to learn new tricks. Good work.

Page numbers! :)

Nice improvements. :)

Can I suggest a improvement for the flashcards? An option to select which list it uses, either before it starts or the ability to jump back and forth between your different lists as you use it, rather than just using the current default list?

I hate to suggest anything — cuz it makes me seem ungrateful after all the wonderful work you guys have done — but I’m gonna say this: That Pinyin chart is really a remarkable piece of web wizardry. You might consider augmenting it with a sister chart that explores the consonant sounds more in depth. Something that compares and contrasts combos like q/ch or sh/x. Maybe a toss a line or two in about tongue placement and such.

Hi Fu Da Wei,

Don’t be. Keep the suggestions coming! :D

Bazza,

Great idea, will share that with the others!
